Swami Kripananda is a native of Goa, India. He studied
under the direct tutelage of the renowned yoga teacher
Mr. BKS Iyengar,
founder of Iyengar Yoga, from 1983 until 1998. In 1998, Swamiji left
India for his travels abroad. In 1983 he was initiated into the Science
of Shakipat Meditation by His
Holiness Swami Shivom Tirth Maharaj of the Tirtha lineage. He
received his second initiation from
His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar
Swami Arjun Puri Maharaj in 2005.
Swamiji is essentially a
healer. He has studied eastern disciplines in India and also has a
fitness degree in the State University of New York. He has taught in
five continents. He presently lives in Seattle, WA and still travels
extensively teaching the art of yoga and meditation to people in all
walks of life. He also holds a degree in Wellness and Fitness from the
State University of New York.
Fluent in English, Swami
Kripananda speaks ten languages and has an uncanny knowledge of yoga and
Eastern Philosophy. He disperses his knowledge with insight, gentleness
and an engaging sense of humor. His meditation classes are a mix of
lecture, meditation and healing.
